Saturday, August 13, 2005 -- Sydney Here we come

After a sleepless night, we wake up and head out to walk around Sydney. We find a little place where we dine on ham, swiss and tomato croissants (must remember to try those at home!). It’s off to the shops after we fill up on breakfast.

Upon our walk up Kitt Place, we run into a parade which looks like a war veteran parade. It was a great way to get a taste of local festivities. We happen upon a casting call of Australia’s Next Top Model as well as a slew of places to shop.

One trip to Borders later, we’re heading back down toward our hotel. We stop for a spell to take some pictures of the opera house. I can’t believe how beautiful it is.

Later on that afternoon, I take a walk a block north (I think it’s north) from our hotel and find an outdoor market. Bag pipes are playing and people are jovial. It almost feels like home.

We’re now getting ready to embark on the Rocks Pub Tour. I have a feeling we’ve hit most of the pubs on the tour, but it will still be nice to get a guided tour.

The Sydney Harbor Bridge. Notice the people climbing to the top. I was too much of a wus to do it this time around, but I vowed when we head back in 2010, I'm climbing that bridge!
